A week of Saturday morning pinball, trivia nights and folk music

Friday, Jan. 7
Plank Road Pub & Grill, De Pere

Nettle Hill brings folk tunes to Plank Road Pub & Grill (1632 Mid Valley Dr) in De Pere this Friday.

The Americana and bluegrass trio hails from Menchalville, WI. Their first album, Set Fire to a Perfect Story, came out in 2021.

The good tunes start at 7:30 pm.

Amy Shreve

Friday, Jan. 7
Cup O Joy, Green Bay

Harpist Amy Shreve performs at Cup O Joy (525 N Taylor St) on Friday.

Coming from Nashville, TN, Shreve is a seasoned string player and songwriter whose music focuses on faith and religion using folk and alternative Celtic genres. Shreve’s husband and producer Gary Wixtrom will be joining her performance with guitars and the mandolin.

The show starts at 7:30 pm. There is no cover charge, however, there are options for early bird general admission and reserved seating.

Pinball is for the kids

Saturday, Jan. 8
Player 2 Arcade Bar, Green Bay

Player 2 Arcade Bar (216 Washington St) hosts its monthly all-ages open house for children and families on the first Saturday of every month.

The arcade bar offers kid-friendly food such as soda, juice, milk and a breakfast menu on Saturday morning.

Children can play a wide variety of games, from pinball to Super Mario Bro, skeeball to Q*bert.

The bar opens at 9 am on Saturday, Jan. 8 and game tokens are a quarter apiece.

A night of hip-hop

Saturday, Jan. 8
Jam-Rock, Green Bay

Live music, karaoke and a birthday celebration all come to Jam-Rock (700 Bodart Street) this Saturday.

The Oshi, a Milwaukee hip-hop artist influenced by Lauryn Hill and Missy Elliot, performs from 7 pm to 9 pm. The night also features music from Wisconsin rapper Ty Rello and Atlanta rapper Street Casanova.

Then, DJ Stu D kicks off karaoke at 9:30 pm.

The good times start at 7 pm and include free admission and free beer (while supplies last).

Think & Drink Trivia

Tuesday, Jan. 11
Zambaldi Beer, Green Bay

Zambaldi Beer (1649 S Webster Ave) is back in action with its Think and Drink Trivia series.

The trivia night is composed of teams between one and four people that compete in three rounds of trivia. There are no specific trivia themes for Zambaldi’s trivia night, but players are free to come up with categories each time.

The thinking and the drinking start at 6:30 pm. The free event is for those ages 21 and up.

The Play That Goes Wrong

Thursday, Jan. 13
Stage Ten Seventeen, Ashwaubenon

Stage Ten Seventeen (1017 Waube Ln) premieres its rendition of The Play That Goes Wrong this month.

The play is centered around the opening night of a 1920s fictional play, The Murder at Haversham Manor, where everything goes wrong quickly.

The play combines comedy and mystery and has received high praise from critics at the New York Times, HuffPost, Variety and celebrity performers Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams.

Stage Ten Seventeen’s The Play That Goes Wrong is directed by Jennifer Koroll and Erick James Gyrion.

The play starts on Jan. 13th at 8 pm and runs through Jan. 16. Tickets at $20.
